The Limpopo Department of Health seeks to employ 1211 unemployed people to fill the position of EPWP General Workers. Successful candidates will be receiving a monthly stipend during the duration of their contract which ends on March 31st, 2023. The successful candidates will be placed in various health facilities within the Limpopo Province. Women and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Sekhukhune (114 positions)

The remaining candidates will be part of a vertical programme and will be placed in hospitals across the above districts.

Requirements:

A minimum of Abet Education
Must be medically fit and have the ability to lift people of various weights, and can lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
Be willing to lift corpses of various weights and to work with human excreta
The ability to use machinery like lawnmowers and weedeaters.
Be willing to be on your feet for long hours (up to 12 hours per day)
Be willing to work night shifts, on weekends, and public holidays.
Good communication skills
Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and Occupational Health And Safety Act, 1993
Waste Management

Duties And Responsibilities:

Ward Attendants:

Perform various cleaning services and household activities within the wards
Render fluids functions (human excreta fluids including blood)

Porters:

Transport patients using stretchers, or wheelchairs to any area within the medical facility
Take corpses to the mortuary
Clean and wash stretchers and wheelchairs
Perform minor maintenance of stretchers and wheelchairs

Mortuary Attendants:

Report all faulty or broken equipment to your supervisor immediately.
Load and off-load corpses.
Render sluice functions (human excreta fluids including blood) including the preparation Of corpses
Maintain equipment: Clean equipment, and safekeeping Of equipment.
Perform activities within the mortuary like Keeping proper identification and accurate records in the workplace, releasing and keeping a record Of corpses handed over to next Of kin.
Render mortuary services: Receiving, handling, and of corpses. Ensure that the mortuary cool room is in good working order.
Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary.
Perform cleaning services, ensuring infection, prevention, and control environment in line with relevant policies.

Laundry Aid:

Accurate recording of all incoming and outgoing linen daily to hospitals, clinics, and EMS services.
Cleaning of laundry and equipment Daily
Correct handling, receiving, and dispatch of soiled and clean linen to the wards and clinics according to protocol and infection control measures.
Follow and adhere to Health and Safety Regulations.
