Menzies Aviation South Africa seeks to employ a ticketing agent in its Ticketing Department and a lounge frontline in its Umphala Lounge Department.

Locations: Durban and Johannesburg

Closing Date: July 26th, 2022

Ticketing Agent

The successful candidate will be based at Menzies Aviation South Africa, at OR Tambo Airport in Kempton Park, Johannesburg. This is a temporary position and only Matric is required.

Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) certificate or equivalent
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Customer care orientation (good customer service skills)
  • Prior ticketing experience with knowledge of various airline systems is essential.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Work on reservation systems for different airlines.
  • Resolve problems effectively, efficiently, and timeously.
  • Reconcile sale reports.
  • Ensure that all the money that has been collected is secured and banked within two hours of departure.
  • Daily updating of flight files.
  • Reconciliation and ordering of stock.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure on-time performance as per rostered times and airline requirements.
  • Comply with the Company’s and airport’s authority on safety and security regulations.
  • Ensure that adequate preparations are made in case of denied boardings.
  • Re-booking of all passengers before actual arrival, delayed, disrupted incoming and outgoing flights, and making hotel bookings and transportation arrangements for these passengers.
  • Ensure that all the information communicated by the company, client and airport authority is always read, understood and acknowledged by a signature.
  • Preparation in case of DBC (availability of flights, hotel and transportation) and DBC payments.

Lounge Frontliner

The successful candidate will be based at Menzies Aviation in Durban at the Department of Umphala Lounge. This is a permanent position.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
  • Computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good interpersonal relations
  • Good customer care orientation
  • Team player

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Welcome all passengers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Be an ambassador in the company
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • Complete flight lists for all airlines
  • Ensure that all procedures and requirements are followed
  • Perform general administrative duties, filing statistics and documents
  • Daily maintenance of lights and equipment liaise with service providers
  • Receive all deliveries as per the supervisor’s requests, check stock and follow all  procedures and correctly file the paperwork
  • Time management for lounge attendants
  • Ensure that fridges are packed and that food is correctly displayed
  • Inspect the lounge before opening throughout the shift to check that it is clean, neat, and tidy
  • Ensure that equipment is turned On/Off as required and that the coffee machine is always clean.
