Court Interpreter (Only Matric Required)

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development seeks to employ a court interpreter who is fluent in English and two or more indigenous languages of Limpopo. The successful candidate will be based in the Polokwane Magistrates’ office and will be required to sign a performance agreement.

Salary: R176 310 – R207 681 per annum

Requirements:

Matric (Grade 12) Certificate or NQF level 4
English, Northern Sotho, TshiVenda, Tsonga, Shona
Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office
Have good communication skills (written and verbal)
Maintain interpersonal relations
Be accurate and have attention to detail
Organizational and administrative skills

Duties And Responsibilities:

Interpret in a criminal court, labour court, civil court, or quasi-judicial proceedings and during consultations.
Record cases in a criminal record book.
Translate legal documents and exhibits.
Keep all court records up to date.
Draw case records as per the request of the magistrate and prosecutors.
Perform any tasks assigned by the office in terms of the rationalization of functions.
