Cashbuild, a retailer of building and construction materials, invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the General worker positions available in various stores across the country.
The successful candidates will be responsible for loading and merchandising of stock, shelf price labelling, and housekeeping within a designated area of responsibility.

2. Northwest: Mmabatho, Mahikeng
3. Cape Town, Western Cape: Brackenfell, Mitchells Plein
4. Eastern Cape: New Brighton Gqeberha, Lady Frere, Amalinda, Khayelitsha, Cofimvaba
5. KwaZulu-Natal: Nongoma, KwaDukuza
6. Northern Cape: Mothibistad, Kuruman, Upington
7. Limpopo: Steelpoort
Requirements:
- Must have Grade 12 or at least one year work related experience if the candidate does not have Matric.
- Good communication skills in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available
- Good numerical skills (basic Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations accurately)
- Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays, and be able to work well under pressure.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Ensure comprehensive customer service in the Store by acknowledging all customers and determining their needs, advising them correctly on products, and assisting them with product queries.
- Ensure that the working area is free of obstacles, that all stock is merchandised immediately after being received, and that customers can enter and leave the aisle without any risk of injury or irritation.
- Must label shelf prices correctly within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure that the checklist is completed as required when on duty with the canteen, restroom, or showers schedule.
- Ensure that customer purchases are loaded without any delays and that they are loaded carefully without damaging the goods or the customers’ vehicles.
- Must always be available in the aisle of responsibility.
- Be aware of suspicious behaviours or people and report any suspicions to management
- Ensure that no product is loaded for a customer without proof of purchase or required documentation.
- Identify any gaps in the displays, investigate causes and report any concerns to management.
Additional Duties And Responsibilities:
- Advise customers on the additional services provided like delivery service/bulk deposits, glass cutting, plan reading, credit programmes, special orders, trusses, distant ordering, and the VIC Customer Programme. (must be certified in product knowledge)
- Safety (OHSA) compliance (e.g., use of safety gear, ensuring customer, and staff safety) within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure that the area of responsibility (racking and bulk) stock is merchandised safely for customers and colleagues to move safely within the store.
- Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Adhere to ‘Ready for Business’ and ‘Beyond my Control’ policies as per the Cashbuild Way.
