The Department of Health, in partnership with the Federal Department of Germany, DGMT, a South African Foundation, has launched an exciting opportunity for the youth that is passionate about outreach programmes in providing essential services for underdeveloped communities.
Through this project, ‘the Ke Ready Mobile Health Services For Young People, DGMT invites young people to apply for various vacancies that will help them extend healthcare to underserved communities.
Closing Date: August 19th, 2022
Location: Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal
Duration: Fixed Contract Until December 2023

1. Position: Code 8 Drivers (32 posts)
Location:

Requirements:
- Must have a Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate
- Must be in possession of a valid PDP
- Must have a code EB or EC1 driver’s license with no impairments or endorsements
2. Position: Code 10 Drivers (5 posts)

3. Position: Data Capturers

- Computer Literacy in Microsoft Excel
- At least 3 years of working experience in data capturing.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Data Coding experience will be an added advantage.
4. Position: Administrators

Requirements:
- Must have a Business administration qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in administration of a small to medium size organization.
- Must have experience managing an office environment.
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Position: Logistics Manager
Location:

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in operations and logistics management size organizations.
- Advanced Microsoft Suite knowledge, particularly in Excel.
- Fleet management experience is advantageous.
6. Position: HR Manager
Location:
Gauteng: Johannesburg (1)
Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification.
- Must have a minimum of 5 to 8 years of working experience in Human Resources Management.
- Must be experienced in payroll administration and management.
- Experience in working in community-based organizations and/or government will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation and regulations is essential.
7. Position: Monitoring And Evaluation Manager (×1)
Location: Still to be confirmed, but between Johannesburg, Durban, or Cape Town
Requirements:
- Must be in possession of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of working experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably for donor-funded projects.
- Must have Experience in developing monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Must demonstrate experience in developing dashboards and writing concise and clear analytical reports.
- Must have the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
8. Position: Doctors (Must be Young) 5 posts

Requirements:
- Must Be a Young Medical Doctor who is under the age of 35.
- Be multilingual and a strong communicator
- Live in the province, preferably the district, serviced by the mobile units
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have prior experience working on public health campaigns, including SBCC and RCCE, and Covid-19 vaccine demand creation would be an added advantage.
9. Position: Professional Nurses (37 posts)

More About The Programme:
Over a million people were vaccinated against Covid-19 through mobile outreach services (Ke Ready Campaign) in informal settlements and rural areas. As a result, 87 outreach vehicles were provided to reach young people so to provide them with basic health care services.
The main aim of the programme extension is to help reach more young people and to encourage them to get vaccinated while giving them primary health services as well.
Please Note:
This is a summary of the vacancies from the DGMT. More details are listed on the DGMT website. While all other roles will be office based, all drivers, district communicators, and nurses will be based on mobile clinics and thus would be required to be on the road most of the time. On the other hand, doctors and social workers will be required for part of their working week.
