The Gauteng Department of Education invites unemployed graduates and students who have completed their first-year tertiary academic year to apply for Examination Assistants and Quality Assurer positions to assist the Education Department in the 2022 National Senior Certificate Certificate markings.
Furthermore, the Education Department wants to ensure that all learners receive results that are fair, reliable, and valid, and that the integrity of the Matric final examinations is not compromised.
The successful candidates will be based at the Gauteng Department of Education. The minimum requirement to be given preference is Accounting or/and Mathematics/ Mathematics Literacy. If you have studied these subjects and live in Gauteng province, then this opportunity is for you.
Available Positions: 266 Examination Assistants and 1258 Quality Assurers

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be an unemployed Graduate or student that has completed the first year tertiary academic year
- Must be living in Gauteng
- Must have studied Accounting and/or Mathematics/Mathematics Literacy
Duties And Responsibilities:
Examination Assistants
- Assist with the controlling, scanning, and packaging of scripts for marking centres in all 15 Gauteng Districts.
Quality Assurers
- Assist with the controlling of scripts in all 24 marking centres before and after marking.
- Ensure that all scripts have been marked, that marks have been calculated and correctly transferred, and that all the scripts are accounted for.
Please note:
The process for these positions commences with the 2022 National Senior Certificate Examination on October 30th, 2022 up until the end of the final examination that ends on December 6th, 2022.
However, markings will be conducted between November 10th and November 20th, 2022, and from December 7th and December 20th, 2022.
The Quality Assurers will only be appointed for one marking session. Thorough training will be provided for all successful candidates before they commence their duties.
Also, successful candidates will be required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement and Code of Conduct as soon as the requirements have been discussed with them by the Department.
