Dischem, one of South Africa’s pharmacy groups, is offering a Cosmetic Learnership to people who are in possession of a Matric certificate and have passion for cosmetics, beauty and sales. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend and will be based in Mall Of The North, Polokwane.

At the end of the learnership, successful candidates will be successful Cosmetic Sales Consultants.

Dischem Learmership Minimum Requirements:

Must be a South African citizen who is in possession of a Matric Certificate with English and Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy
Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Must be passionate about beauty, cosmetics and be willing to work retail hours
Must have good customer service skills
Previous working experience in a retail environment will be an added advantage
Valid driver’s license and own transport will be advantageous.
Clear criminal record

Required Skills:

Must be a team player, have time management skills, be target and deadline driven, persuasive with good customer service skills.
Must possess basic financial skills, have good communication skills in English.
Work and SAP experience
Attention to detail, honest and trustworthy, and have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Driver’s License and own transport.
Target and deadline driven.
A second South African official language will be an added advantage.

Dischem Learnership Duties And Responsibilities:

Assist with the counting of stock files and general stock taking when needed.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, merchandising and displays must be maintained in both the window area and throughout the store and always present products in an attractive manner.
Ensure all ranges of products are always on the shelves.
Report low stock levels, items that are out of stock, damaged stock and expired stock to management.

Additional Duties And Responsibilities:

Assist with the loading and off-loading of stock and unpacking stock when it arrives and handle all goods carefully to avoid damage or losses.
Assist and advice all customers by demonstrating products through makeovers, cosmetic demonstrations, spray promotions or activities.
Advice customers regarding alternative products without forcing them to change their preferable brand.
Maintain expired and damage stock by adhering to stock rotation processes and procedures.
Resolve customer queries or complaints.
Work towards achieving sales targets for different vendors and brands within the Cosmetics Department.
Keep updated with in-depth knowledge regarding existing and new products, brands and the retail industry.
Ensure bookings for Salon appointments are made correctly.
Be responsible for all cosmetics, fragrances and beauty house promotions.
