SARB Banknote Processors: The South African Reserve Bank invites interested applicants to join the Currency Management Department by applying for the Banknote Processor vacancy. Only Grade 12 is required.

Successful candidates will based at the Johannesburg Cash Centre and will be responsible for preparing, processing, verifying and quality-sorting banknotes received from internal and external customers.

SARB Banknote Processors Minimum Requirements:

Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office
Good planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
Applicants must be flexible, energetic and be focused.
Interpersonal relations and a team player
Service and stakeholder focused.
Experience in a cash-handling environment (e.g Cashier) will be an added advantage.

SARB Banknote Processors Duties And Responsibilities:

Reconcile processed batches of banknotes to ensure it balances with the amount deposited by customers.
Prepare, process and verify dye-stained banknotes received from external customers manually.
Prepare, process, verify and quality-sort banknotes received from internal and external customers.
Identify, evaluate and solve defined, routine and new problems within a familiar context, applying solutions based on relevant evidence and procedures.
Provide information to the supervisor relating to operational efficiency as well as any deviations from policies, procedures and service level agreements.

Additional Duties:

Deliver work that meets the time and quality standards set in terms of the processing and destruction of soiled notes.
Engage in short-term planning and perform tasks against work plans as defined by the team leader.
Perform work as part of a team within established practices, processes, rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with standards, policies and other guidelines in executing prescribed tasks.
Engage with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure optimal delivery within the section.

As a Bank Processor, the candidates must proactively broaden theit knowledge of the functional area. They must display willingness to make improvements in their own work, learn about different methods and practices.

Therefore, they are expected to evaluate their own performance against given criteria, identify and address task-specific learning needs.
