IEC Outreach Fieldworkers For 2024 Elections: The Independent Electoral Commission seeks to employ Outreach Fieldworkers for the 2024 National and Provincial Government Elections. Only Matric or N3 is required to qualify.

The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting in the coordinating of programs and projects of the IEC at the municipal towards the elections.

Job Title: Outreach Fieldworkers

Remuneration: R350 per day

Duration: 28 days

Location: Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality

Closing Date: December 14th, 2022

IEC Outreach Fieldworkers For 2024 Elections Minimum Requirements:

  • Interested applicants must be in possession of a Grade 12/Matric certificate or equivalent.
  • Must have strong community mobilization experience.
  • Have a cellular phone.
  • Ability to facilitate skills, educate and engage individuals of various demographic descriptions and education levels.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The applicant must not have a political position and must not be involved in any political party’s campaign.
  • Knowledge of areas/wards, its civil society structures and leadership.
  • Reside or be familiar with the area or ward in which the candidate is applying.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be expected to draw up a schedule of interventions such as workshops, meetings or events for the wards to which the candidate will be allocated.
  • Conduct non-partisan civic and democracy education, which includes voting and ballotin, on behalf of the Electoral Commission and other employees of the Electoral Commission.
  • Organise gatherings or opportunities for delivering civic and democracy education in allocated wards.
  • Distribute the IEC’s educational and campaign
    materials such as pamphlets and factsheets in allocated wards before or during scheduled interventions.
  • Contribute towards strengthening electoral democratic processes towards the 2024 National and Provincial Government Elections.
  • Prepare and conduct educational interactions with community members as requested.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and perform any other civic and democracy duties as assigned by the relevant Provincial Electoral Officer.

Additional Duties:

  • Compile and submit reports and supporting evidence as required for all interventions or educational interventions. Supporting evidence includes duly signed attendance registers, programmes, timesheets and any other forms as may be required from time
    to time. This must be forwarded to the Municipal Outreach Coordinator weekly or on an agreed upon day.
