Building Construction Learnerships 2023: Motheo Academy has exciting learnership opportunities for individuals that are interested in pursuing a career in building construction.
Interested applicants must not be over the age of 35, and must be South African citizens from the Gauteng region. If you want to earn while you learn and receive both theoretical and practical training, then these opportunities are for you.
Types Of Learnership Opportunities:
- FETC: Supervision Of Construction Processes
- Built And Engineering Environment
- HET Placement Programme: Built And Engineering Environment
Short Skills Programmes:
- Community House Building
- Building And Civil Construction
- NC: Contruction Roadworks
Apprenticeship Opportunities:
- Carpentry Apprenticeship (Red Seal)
- Bricklaying Apprenticeship (Red Seal)
Closing Date: January 6th, 2023
Duration: 3 to 36 months, depending on the learnership, apprenticeship and short skills programmes
Location: Gauteng
Stipend: All candidates will receive a monthly stipend
Building Construction Learnerships 2023 Minimum Requirements:
- Applicants must not be over 35 years old.
- Must be South African citizens from Gauteng.
Additional Requirements:
- Short Skills: Community House Building
Candidates must have a Grade 9 qualification.
- Short Skills – NC: Construction Roadworks
Applicants must have a Grade 10 school qualification.
- Short Skills: Building And Civil Construction
Must be in possession of a Grade 10 qualification
Please Note: Short Skills programme applicants must be currently unemployed. Two clear uncertified copies of Identity Document must be attached on the application. This is a 3-month programme.
- Bricklaying Apprenticeship
The minimum requirement is Grade 12/Matric with a pass in Mathematics and English.
Applicants must also have a N2 qualification in Bricklaying or Masonry.
Be willing to travel within Gauteng as or when requested.
Important: This is a full time 3-year apprenticeship programme. At the end of the apprenticeship, successful candidates with receive a Occupational Certificate.
- HET Placement Programme In Built And Engineering Environment
Candidates must be university or univerisity of technology students who have already completed their theoretical training in National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Bachelor Of Science (Engineering) Civil Engineering.
Be willing to travel and have the ability to arrange or organize their own transport and/or accomodation when the need arises.
Must have a mobile phone that can receive emails from the Motheo office.
Please Note: An in-service training letter will be required from the learning institution of all applicants who wish to apply for the HET Placement Programme In Built Engineering And Environment.
- FETC: Supervision Of Construction Processes
Applicants must be unemployed and have a Grade 11 certificate in Mathematics and English.
Two clear uncertified copies of Identity Document must be attached to the application.
- Carpentry Apprenticeship
A Grade 12 certificate with a pass in Mathematics And English, plus a N2 qualification in Carpentry.
NB: Applicants will be studying full time towards a 3-year National Occupational Cerificate qualification. They will receive a monthly stipend

- Two Uncertified copies of Identity document
- Cerified copy of qualification, depending on the programme that the applicant wishes to apply for. No qualification is required for Grade 9 to 11.
