Roadworks & Maintenance Learnership – 2023: The Department of Economic Development in the City Of Johannesburg invites unemployed youth to apply for a Skills Development Programme in Construction.
The aim of this learnership programme is to make workplaces active learning environments for employees and unemployed individuals, as per the objectives of the Skills Development Act (1998). Learnership will be receiving a monthly stipend for the duration of the learnership.
At the end of the programme, learners will receive a National Cerificate: Construction – Roadworks NQF level 2 (SAQA ID 24133).
Programme Title: Construction: Roadworks and Maintenance Learnership
Number of Positions: 400
Duration: March 1st, 2023 to July 31st, 2023 (4 1/2 Months)
Stipend: R1 500 per month
Location: 66 Jorissen Place, Braamfontein (Regions D & G), City of Johanneburg, Gauteng
Closing Date: February 15th, 2023
Roadworks & Maintenance Learnership – 2023 Minimum Requirements:
- Must be residents of The City Of Johannesburg.
- Unemployed youth, prospective or aspiring learners with a maximum NQF 1 certificate and/or Grade 9 General Education and Training (GET) certificate and/or Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) 4 certificate or a SAQA recognized NQF 2 equivalent qualification.
- There is no age limit. Anyone who meet the above minimum requirements can apply.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Basic analytical skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct general construction activities (as reflected in unit standard elected).
- Perform supplementary roadworks construction activities and team leader supervisory functions (when such unit standards are selected).
- Communicate in a road construction environment (verbally- by writing and signs).
- Apply Mathematics in a road construction environment (calculate quantities, set out work).
