Woolworths Customer Assistants: Retail Store Woolworths seeks to employ Customer Assistants who will be based in several Woolworths stores.
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, by performing End of Day duties and ensuring accurate replenishment of stock and removal of expired merchandise.
Job Title: Shop Assistants
Salary: R304 per day (8 hour shift, four times per week)
Location: Various Woolworths Stores

Woolworths Customer Assistants Minimum Requirements:
- Good communication skills in English
- Previous work experience as a shop assistant will be added advantage.
- No qualification is required for this position.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Customer Service-
- Greet, smile and acknowledge all customers.
- Display a helpful attitude when serving internal and external customers.
- Ensure the delivery of a consistent customer shopping experience in line with agreed service levels.
- Stay updated with the latest lines and promotions in-store.
- Meets customers’ needs and expectations by asking, listening to and advising customers as to options/services/products available.
Stock Control-
- Maintain in-store action plan, waste and temporary out of stock tickets.
- Conduct accurate temperature probes.
- Ensure that back up stock is packed out.
- Remove waste from the floor and back up areas and verify temporary out of stock and place correct tickets.
- Ensure that the stockroom stock is represented on the sales floor.
- Pack stock according to company policy.
- Ensuring proper stock rotation is adhered to and expired merchandise and poor quality items are removed.
Adherence To Store Policies-
- Clear back areas or receiving yard to prepare for the delivery of truck.
- Maintain shop-keeping and Foods Supply Chain disciplines.
- Ensure dual key control and ensures that all key processes are in place.
- Report acts of dishonesty related to shrinkage and fraud to line manager or shrinkage hotline.
- Understand and apply red flag processes for End of Day.
- Report suspicious individuals and activities in area of responsibility to security or management.
Additional Duties –
- Effective management of stock loss.
- Ensure buddy system is in place in area of responsibility.
- Demonstrates self-discipline with regards to attendance, dress code, hygiene and time-keeping.
- Attend team meetings to know the day’s focus.
