LATEST: Sibanye-Stillwater Learnership Programmes – Sibanye Still-water invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the latest learnership programmes that are being provided by the company.

During the selection process, applicants must be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Care Centre.

Programme Title: Learner Official Mining

Qualification: Supervisor Operations Underground Hard Rock (NQF Level 4)

Interested applicants who wish to apply for the mining learnership must meet the following minimum requirements:

Grade 12/Matric certificate or equivalent, passed with Mathematics/Pure Maths and English. Highest academic results for Grade 12 or higher education qualification in mining (BSc Degree or Diploma) will be advantageous.
Current mining experience working underground in the primary production field. Four or more years current mining experience in primary production (Stoping/Development/tramming) will be an added advantage.

About The Mining Learniship Programme:

Learners acquiring this qualification will be equipped with the required competencies to supervise safe and efficient blasting and other associated mining activities in an underground environment.

Please Note:

The Mining Learnership is for internal applicants. Shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo an interview process and psychometric assessment.

Team Leaders or Operators with current experience in stoping/development are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidates in the Official A Stream learnership will receive a bursary and practical exposure (Learnership) on a full employment package with company benefits.

These benefits will be aligned with Sibanye-Stillwater Learner Official Scheme. All tuition fees and books will be provided for by Sibanye-Stillwater. Both internal and external applicants may apply.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be in possession of a Grade 12/Matric certificate with at least 60% in English, Mathematics and Physical Science. Distinctions in Mathematics and Physical Science will be an added advantage.
If currently studying, applicants must possess a university acceptance with an APS of 23 (Mid-year results will be provisionally considered if currently studying).
Reside in Driefontein Labour sending Area or local community.
Not currently be busy or have completed prior University studies.

Please Note:

The final allocation is dependent on applicants obtaining an acceptance letter from the University of Johannesburg. All applicants will be subjected to clearance screening by the South African Police Services as required by the National Explosives Act.
