Traffic Officer/ Metro Cop Training : To be quipped with the skills that are required to become a traffic officer, an interested applicant must be prepared to undergo intense training that is conducted by the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RMTC).

Department Of Tourism -Tourism Monitors Programme

During the training, the trainees will gain knowledge of traffic laws, techniques for directing traffic, inspecting vehicles for road worthiness, and how to respond to traffic accidents.

Further more, trainees will learn how to document traffic violations, how to provide basic first Aid, and will receive defensive driving skills to help them drive safely in various traffic situations.

Traffic Officer Training [Minimum Requirements]

The applicants must be medically, physically and mentally fit for the tasks and duties that will be assigned on the field. Applicants mustn’t be older than 35 years old as they do not qualify for the position.

They must be in possession of a Matric certificate (Grade 12) and have a clear criminal record and no pending report. They must be South African citizens with a valid Code B driving license.

If shortlisted, candidates will undergo a medical examination, psychological evaluations, and security checks to access their suitability for the position

Traffic Services & Metro Police Learnership

Duties and Responsibilities

During their training. trainees will learn how to promote road safety, and force laws, and manage traffic effectively. They will gain skills on how to respond to traffic accidents, secure accident scenes and provide immediate assistance.

Fire Fighter Learnership

They will develop skills in inspecting vehicles for compliance, issue warnings and tickets to traffic drivers who violate the law and how to use breathalyzer during traffic laws enforcement.

The training involves physical training which includes advanced driving, but that accounts for 20 % of the final mark. Trainees will be writing a lot of tests and assessments to qualify for the final exam.
